Dr. Rubia first left western Newfoundland to attend the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she attained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2006.  She then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Upon graduation she returned to her West Coast roots and joined the Humber Valley Vet Clinic from 2011 to the present.

As a veterinarian she is interested in both surgery and medicine, but has a particular interest in metabolic diseases. She enjoys all furry companions and has a extra soft spot for our feline friends.

Outside of work she enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family, and staying active. She also makes sure to make time for her favorite feline in the world, her loveable cat Quebert.
